Barren dust,

Author's Note

Rambling Prose
Mea Culpa is Latin for: "I'm to blame". I had a written explanation for those who might not be familiar with the concept of a six word story, but as you'll see, it wasn't appreciated - so I deleted it...

You see: it's an entire story of a barren life; dying (dust to dust) without ever giving birth to their dreams - with no one to blame but themselves.

Wow.. I love it. It's short, obviously. But the images it brings to mind.. I fear I should not think upon it too long, else it will depress me. I love it. =] Excellent work! And by the way.. don't you dare let one person get you down. I'll always be right behind you (or beside you, whichever you prefer). You have great talent, and don't forget it!

you could get away with calling this a six word poem as well... I am a little confused, but what is new? word choice is so delicate in a piece such as this and you succeeded flawlessly in choosing the correct words to convey your point... I suppose the idea of a six word story is to leave the reader wanting more, and that you accomplished very well... great job!

Matisse could draw a portrait with 5 lines. This is the same.

It is sad, forlong, and introspective. The word arrangement and dreamy and searing.

Quite brilliant! The story of all humanity consumed by ageless dust that swirls around our history. And those who live without a sense of consequence will die without a sense of accomplishment or victory. Well done!!!!! Good to be your friend!!!

Very dramatic - I agree with DrumMajorPod, without your explanation I would have been a bit lost and one man's opinion is just that. :)

Excellent!

When I think of Hemmingway's classic six word story example : "For Sale: Baby Shoes, Never Worn", I can see in my mind the important details of his story on my own without an explanatory note by the author.

I would suggest avoiding heavy symbolism in six-word stories.

Bravo, Bellisimo! A compact story in six words, you are truly a master of words. That is my humble opinion and I am sticking with it!
