The Enemy...A Poem by Dawn WriterA poem i decided to write on the spot... Once more it is a glimpse into how i view the world...
What is life? What is love?
Is there truly another power from above? There is so much pain and suffering, So many children who do not know the feel of mothering. Too much blood, people with no home, It makes what should be a peaceful life into a sickening war zone. Parents watch their children go to fight, While men are broken by bloody, horrendous sights. In history, mistakes are made, In future, can those lives truly be saved? There is drink, there is drug, people lose themselves, They try to escape, to live, to be rid of the habit of living 'on the shelves'. In this mixing pot, insanity haunts us all, We tread carefully down life's daunting, unknown hall. We rely on friendship, family, dreams and hopes, To shape our destiny and lead us over slippery slopes. How can we fight what can't be seen? It lies within, as deep as a knife is keen. Our one true enemy, is not each other, The enemy is ourselves, each and everyone, simply one after another...
