Shattered path

Shattered path

A Poem by Dandelion

I hear screaming on
the other side of the wall.
Sitting there listening
to it all.

You hit her,
she cries,
babbling lies.
Everything I loved,
I was forced to leave behind.

I hear a crash.
Someone is now on the floor.
I hurry to sneak out
through the back door.

Yells come from
inside the house.
It's like he is the cat
and you are the mouse.

Running down the street,
only tempted to glance back.
I'm shaking with fear
now that it is a known fact.

She's hurting so much.
I can sense her pain.
All the thoughts,
my mind begins to strain.
