Words

A Poem by David Lewis Paget

If all my words

Were scattered on the sand,
To mingle with
The acres of the sea,
Just four I’d keep
To hold you at the hand…

My woman now:
‘Grow old with me!’

My review got lost (tried to edit it) Anyway, just want to say that this is the most beautiful poem I have ever read and it speaks a lot about what the heart wants to say. You are fantastic with words David.

Never was a poem more sweetly wrought
from words of the heart that all men ought
let flow forth freely as though from a kiss
to fill the heart of a woman with bounds of bliss.

Your heart is a gem!

Its brevity is part of its beauty.
Nice rhyming, it stretched to carry the flow nicely.
Romantic, appealing in its simplicity and timelessness.

Good write.
