The fascinating thing is hearing you read your work as if you were reliving the event, the story unfolding reminding me of a young boys dream to spend money on a ride that is fanciful, when we are young it is all so real, and we can dream, imagine and tuck it away. You read with perfection, each line has meaning ....loved it,

Wow is right...I absolutely loved listening to your poem as well as watching the carousel. I loved the ending too...I have always loved carouselS...but you have to hold on tight ha...lOVED IT ...SyberRose
Oh how I wish I could curse right now, for some thoughts cannot be otherwise accurately expressed. This is absolute brilliance...like staring in the face of the sun too long! My mind will take some time to regain it's place inside my head, for it was off on the ride with lad in terror, as he rode Midnight the Demon horse on the carousel. Your work does always blow my mind, and I am glad to be alive and honored to be reading/listening to it. I didn't think your work could get any better until I watched this.
I sat gazed at my computer screen awed by your voice which chilled me as the horse took flight into the blackened night. The vocals brilliant and so fitting for such a tale. Yet again your voice is fitting each time you share with us a reading. The talent you possess to combine imagery, lighting, special effects and your steamy hot vocals delight my palate. Another masterpiece by the very talented David Lewis Paget!!!
i don't know how you do it, urban legend at its very best...and so damned convincing and frightful. your narrative did this piece great justice and i could remember the times i would go to carnival with my family and friends like it was only yesterday. excellent, David, superbly done!
Your poetry is incredibly well versed as always, David!
the innocence of the rhyme and rhythm add to the sinisterness of the content, and I love the way the ending puts leaves you with a twist on the perception of age restrictions on carnival rides.
Your voice is also very nice.
The images are great at first, but there's a point where the motion becomes a bit repetitive and distracting from the poem. I'd make the images more subtle by applying a sepia filter and slowing down the motion of the horse when you begin speaking. You could even add a subtle effect of a red glow on the horses eye at a certain point if you wanted to.
YEAH MAN! A star is born... GREAT stuff. My wife liked your voice. I've been thinking of doing something like this for a while, but not as produced as this. Picture in Picture, titles, varying camera angles, fade ins.... excellent idea and execution David, BRAVO.
The other important part about this kind of presentation is to hear the actual author's narrative style and pace. Many readers comment about having trouble with too long or to confusing of sentence structure, yet if read properly, the story makes sense without changes. Here in your video, it was a sheer pleasure to hear the poet read his work, where he placed his pauses, his emphasis, etc. This video you've created and shared is a welcome change of pace not only as entertainment but as insight as well. again, BRAVO.
