Plea from the DarkA Poem by Scott Wolfskill4th poem in the album Plea from the Dark, written 4/2/14.Stillness. The haunting wind. Traces of a whisper. Echoes of footsteps.
In the night I heard A desperate call, A plea from the dark. The barren trees
whispered His final lament.
The wind carried with
it Echoes of pain. An abandoned soul, Whose only friend was
Death.
As his mournful tale
unfolded, The black sky poured
out His agonizing tears.
The forest’s shadows
revealed His forsaken hope. His imploring plea
was swallowed by The call of the
Raven.
His cries could be
borne no longer. A bitter departure. A deafening
thunderbolt.
