My LamentA Poem by Scott Wolfskill3rd poem in the album Plea from the Dark, written 2/13/14.False hope. The fading
sun. A piercing
thorn. A cry in the
dark.
He waited so
long To hear the
voice Yet not a
whisper could be found.
For years
and years He sat in
silence. Thinking
through all that had come to pass.
But shadows
of pain rose From the
depths within. The thorn
became too much, And cries of
agony surfaced.
Alone. The heavy
heart. A bitter
cry. A crushing
burden. No answer
why. Lament
eternal. © 2015 Scott WolfskillAuthor's Note |
