Reflections

A Poem by Scott Wolfskill
"

1st poem in the album Plea from the Dark, written 1/19/14.

"

As I reflect upon my past

I remember the darkening sky.

The wilting flowers in their silent lament

Waiting to die.

The lachrymal journey from the days of their youth

Tells of petals, once in full bloom.

But with Autumn they withered and black clouds filled the sky

Proclaiming the time of their doom.

Such a sight I dared not to see

But the rain poured on from above.

To wash away my past, to swallow my tears,

Reveal any traces of love.

With that darkening sky I could look at last

On this life’s bitter tale.

Take me home, free from chains, on the sea of mist

Where I’ll no longer hear Death’s hail.

Seems you've found the way back...
to the light with this write...
the way you tell your story in the lines...
and doing so in a rhyme scheme...
