Medusa's GazeA Poem by Dream RealityAn epyllion poem about a warrior who falls in love with MedusaI
was born a warrior under the twilight of the morning sky where
the sun bathe me in a majestic light as I reach for the yellow star high above
the world as time moves on, I set off for a new world, night falls
over me, but I fear no darkness for my sword shines like a light.
I
reached an island with a vast forest, but a midst the trees was a maiden with
a beautiful white gown and snakes for her hair, standing in her I
tried to approach to see her face, but she shies away whenever I'm close and
her snakes hiss, wanting me away, but I refuse, presenting her a rose.
The
young maiden looks up at me and smiles and I noticed her eyes were
hidden by a veil that prevents her from seeing the world and the skies, She
tells me that her eyes turns all who gaze into it to stone, the queen the
of gorgons, Medusa, a fallen angel whose eyes will never be seen.
Ever
since Olympia abandoned her, Medusa has found herself alone in
a world she does not understand where her eyes doom those to stone, the
gods of Olympus have punished her wanting love by ruining her hope of
ever finding love again, her heartache feels like she's fallen down a slope.
All
I could do was listen to her tears hitting the stone she sits upon while
her snakes do their best to comfort her, night turning into dawn and
I want to look into her eyes without turning to stone, so I sacrifice sight © 2015 Dream Reality |
