Games

Games

A Poem by David the writer

I see what you're doing with me
If you don't think I see; I see
 I'll play your game
But I hope you know it's all the same

But my eyes are on the prize
 No matter how many tries
I'll make it to the end
No matter how much time I spend

 Because those eyes looking back
I refuse to let myself crack
Because that inviting laugh of yours
Gives me all the needed force

 I don't know why
 And I don't lie
But the way you look at me
Sets some sort of romantic feeling free

 And the way you smile
 In that just you style
Makes me feel like I can go somewhere
So I get caught in an awkward stare

 So I'll play your games
 Because you fan these flames
 I'll play along with you
Because I'm the one that can follow through
