A Poetic Masochism

A Poetic Masochism

A Poem by David the writer

Surrounded but alone
I silently groan
Voices rummaging my mind
Free yet so confined

My mirror's ugly truth
This is me in youth
Living into the grave
Mistaken for brave

I can't run the bullet through
But I'm tearing myself in two
A poetic masochism
Ironic antagonism

Corroded heart of stone
I've been shown my free will sewn
My eyes burdened by fire
Fueled by ignorant desire
