StainedA Poem by David the writerI can see past all your lies I can see past your suits and ties I can read your every thought I know what you've been taught I know every scar, bruise, and stain I know you're not right, you're not sane And I know how you hang your head at night Because we both know, thing's aren't alright But you did the best you could do And you knew Not what you know now, and that's okay You still have tomorrow, a better day And I know it hurts to have to find out What everything that's happened to you was about And you're no victim, but your life hasn't always been easy That's easy to see And I know all of this because I'm you I say as I look in the mirror as I brew So silent, so hurt, so used So abandoned, so alone, so abused Everything feels so cold And I'm about to fold But there's something here left for me I can feel it almost clear enough to see © 2015 David the writer |
