Rome Wasn't Built in a Day

Rome Wasn't Built in a Day

A Poem by David the writer

I'm not another product on a store shelf

But I know how to sell myself

To make your way today

You got to earn some pay

So I found myself somewhere to work

On the other side of the knife and fork

Serving others food and drink

With a smile and a wink

Money's money, and money's worth it

It's no secrete I had to admit

Dreams of suits, ties, and diamond rings

Pearl necklace and matching earrings

Rome wasn't built in a day

And my empire will be the same way

I just have to start somewhere

And where I don't care
