An Empty Cup

An Empty Cup

A Poem by David the writer

I'm tired of being a throw away

A forget about tomorrow day

A waste of time and energy

Just a pretty sight to see

Unappreciated and used

Lost and confused

How am I supposed to wake up

To an empty cup

I can't sleep

So all these ideas seep

I've made mistakes, but why am I the bad guy

Left out to hang, dry, and die

I guess the how

Doesn't matter now

And the first why

Was a lie

So would another answer be trustworthy?

I just don't think this love thing is for me

But I know I'll end up heartbroken again someday

Somehow, I know it's destined to end some way
