Afflictons

Afflictons

A Poem by David the writer

A lion with a glass heart

A pup lost since his head start

A hero, a villain

Principles of sin

Afflictions forcing compromise

Has lead to a foundation of lies

Of which I've tried to stand upon

But at least it gives everyone something to frown on

The sun rises in the west

And the east is where it'll rest

But where am I to end

Am I to be like an old house, forgotten and condemned

Or am I to be like a star

Burn bright, and fall far

As I carry millions of wishes to my grave

And there'll be none I can save
