The soldier without a country

The soldier without a country

A Poem by David the writer

 Feel the wind blow

 Hear the reaper's crow

 Faith is a lie

 For honor I die!

I'm not a hero, but I'm no villain

I may not live, but I won't die in vain

 I'm a swellsword, i'm a soldier without a country

But the innocent is worth fighting for to me

Dust flying as I line up with my brotheren

 Killing may be a sin

 But standing aside is worse

I bring fame, and glory, but it feels like a curse

 It's a nightmare, it's a dream

 It's a common theme

A hero doesn't feel deserving of glory

 And it's a cliche I can see

Not bad. Very martial and thematic and all that. Check your spelling and grammar, though, there's a few errors here and there. The last stanza could be reworked - feels too introspective and 'meta' for the bits leading up to it.

Okay, thanx! ^_^ Not close to my best though, as you could guess, I'm too rusty
