Playground Follies

Playground Follies

A Chapter by DavidRyanM

"The grass is lava," little Jimmy said. "Anything past the trees is out of bounds."
He counted to three as we all ran in separate directions. I climbed the monkey bars and sat on top, letting my legs dangle down to taunt him. Picking up a rock, he threw
it at me and hit me in the chest. "That's not fair!" I screamed, clutching what would
soon be a bruise. "There are no rules," Jimmy said. He ran off. That is how I learned
to cheat. That is how I became the one who was it.

I love this! The way we teach one another to be dishonest, and so quickly.. It's powerful. And I love those last two lines so very much..

Starting a new profile. Just for the hell of it. I'm in love with writing and reading. They're both a huge part of my world and I wish more people were into both of them, or at least just one of them... more..
