Growing Up On the Radio

Heard the new Weezer single. Made me miss the Weezer from the 90's.

I thought no one could share in my disbelief at how far they had fallen,

but then I remembered the way my father felt when he saw Joe Namath

on the sidelines of a football game, completely drunk and hitting on the

field reporter. How he told me ,"This is what booze does. It takes Gods 

and turns them into men." Every time a girl says, "I just want to kiss you,"

I think back on my father's face. And how he never watched a football game

again.

how is such a simple passage so intricate in mood and emotion? a sucker punch to the solar plexus.. amazing
