He ordered a soda and said it was flat. He ordered a steak

and said it was undercooked. He ordered dessert and said 

he had had better. He went home and complained to no one

that it was too cold. He watched television with no interest 

at all and barely touched his cat who was begging for attention. 

It's people like this that make me feel like I'm truly living.

I'm reminded of Cat Power's cover of "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" and Bukowski. People like this should make you feel like you're truly living because they themselves feel like life isn't worth living. So in return, nothing is good enough.
