Troubling Awareness

Troubling Awareness

A Chapter by DavidRyanM

Her tattoos tasted of fresh ink
and she said my semen tasted of stale cigarettes.
She used to whisper in her sleep. I would press my ear
against her heaving chest, while she told me things
she normally wouldn't have.

I think I'm reading these from last to first, but once again...f****n' brilliant. These first two lines seem so new to me while they also feel a little familiar. It's simplicity kills me.

Gah, f*****g love it! People don't use the word semen enough, I really want to now. The first line is amazing and kind of makes me horny. I absolutely adore the way the last half fits together so well. Talent!

This is down-and-out, gritty, and brutally honest ( 'brutal truthism' ?). The characters seem blunt yet vulnerable. Reminds me of a few people I know... Brilliant. You have such a way of saying so much by saying so little.
