TodayA Poem by David M PitchfordJust something to prime the pump . . .051608 It began early, another hango- ver from last night's wine, likely the second bottle did it. But it could have been that second three-finger shot of Bushmills and the Guinness chaser. Or perhaps it is merely the linger of this perennial sinus infection . . . but the nausea contraindicates sinuses. So, wine.
And yet, the morning was bright and I feel better than I have in days, just a bit less focused, and shamefully unable to rhyme at lines' ends. I guess that's okay though, since American verse is so free and liberated. Yes, more wine, thank you. © 2008 David M PitchfordReviews
