Roofing

Roofing

A Chapter by Dave Brown

With the roof needing repair

To ward off every annoying rain drop

Meant that some sorry soul

Had to climb, way, way up top

My knees were especially well worn

My back was forever being sore

And me lugging those super heavy shingle up that steep, flimsy ladder

Was an incredibly difficult chore

However, with her housework and vacuuming done

Plus three future meals prepared

I felt my wife was the solution

Even tho’ of heights, she had always been scared

However, after Showing her where the ladder was

And pointing her toward the necessary tools

I gave her a list containing the inspector’s

Shingle application, building code rules

Then one last suggestion regarding

Both myself and our two huge strapping boys

Since we’d be inside drinking beers while watching TV

We'd appreciate her keeping down the noise
