On the RunA Chapter by Dave Brown🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️It
was so very quiet While
walking through forest's trees Altho’
from a small creek ahead I
heard water’s gentle gurgle It
was also perfectly warm A
comfortably warm day, mid April It
had rained for two nights earlier Leaving
all round wonderfully fresh Everything
everywhere seemed green With
all foliage sparkling bright Creating
a thousand different shades With dark, light and medium all new It
was perfectly soft Morn’s
air was soft with its gentle breeze Which
threaded through trees, warmed by Silent
shafts of sunlight, streaming A
small field lay ahead, past the creek With
a rotting log rail fence wrapped around All
fading away, beyond round rocks Neath
the creek bed’s crystal clear water Laying
together, my back gainst a log My
pup nestled his head on my leg We
both watched a squirrel overhead, Being
careful that we not disturb I
was going to talk to my sweet thing But
my voice would be only an intrusion The
day was meant for bird’s twittering And
the creek’s, casual gurgling, sound While
preparing to settle in this place forever Dark
clouds forecast a coming change A
nasty raincloud ended sun’s wonderful warmth Instigating
pup and I, to go on the run © 2024 Dave BrownReviews
