Gittin Around

Danny climbed into his car

Intending to drive across town

But once more Danny’s car

Let Danny down

 

He decided, “Last time that happens,”

With that unreliable old tank

Having Danny, from his top shelf

Grab his piggy bank

 

Then Danny walked to the dealership

Where he bought a brand-new Jeep

Even though the funny looking thing

Wasn’t exactly, something called cheap

 

Just then skies darkened

With the ground beginning to shake

And driving that stiffly sprung jeep

Gave him the dangest headache

 

A quick U-turn to the dealership

Had him take that stiff Jeep back

And in its place, he purchased  

A real smooth riding Cadillac

 

But then the cost of fuel went up

And the Caddy’s mileage was awful

Finally, of all these different issues

Danny’d had a real craw-full

 

All this had him buy a real friendly mule

Who understands most things he’s said

With things all working out so well that

They each use the same bunkbed
