Sleeping with Bear Ch #1A Chapter by Dave Brown✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️One
night Clyde and I slept with a bear Even
tho I had no pyjamas to wear However
we had both used Clyde’s saddle blanket Which
kept us warm, for which we both thanked it Although
most blankets rarely talked The
one Clyde had liked to sing as we walked And
I’m pretty sure it knew every damn song Which
it would sing as we all trotted long It
would entertain us with lotsa rock and roll As
over hill and valley we’d merrily go But
now that mornin had come We
decided it was time to run But
that bear, tho’ living his life mostly alone Seeing
us leaving, uttered a sad lonely moan And
the blanket, feeling a tug at its heart Felt
that the two of them just couldn’t part They
had inadvertently come so close to each other That
any passing person would think it, the bear’s brother And
when Clyde and I decided to leave that morning Of
a sudden and quite without any warning The
blanket decided to stay with the bear Partially
because they also had matching colored hair So,
just Clyde and I left on another sunny morn Off
across the creek and through a field of corn Even
tho that was the last we’d hear the blanket speak Bear
gave us enough fish for a week Even
Clyde would occasionally enjoy a fin or two But
it was long grass, which was Clyde’s favourite chew Although
on this occasion he had a few heads of cow corn Afterwards
mentioning he had been first born With
two brothers and an attractive sister And
when they’d get together, he friendly kissed’er Just
a sweet and brotherly kiss For
a dear little four-legged miss Then,
after he’d stuffed enough corn in his belly He
did something that was fairly smelly But
the day was bright and still young So
off we trotted for a-bit-a fun © 2024 Dave Brown |
