Square Root

There was an old lady (professor)

Who lived in a shoe, er; a large boot

And tho’ she was a mathematician

She found square root a real brute

 

Geometry, trigonometry and calculus’

With these she hadn’t a problem

But when square root was attempted

Her mind started becomin all a-wobblin

 

She then started a petition

To make square root, forbidden fruit

Just completely eliminating it

As any sort of mathematical pursuit

 

Since then, the college

Of mathematicians has agreed

For future square rooting

There is absolutely no need

 

She has been rewarded for her endeavour

No longer down in the boot’s dark toe

Her reward had her being to moved  

To the boot’s penthouse, with its patio

This very clever DAVIE; I was never good in math so I'm all in favor of eliminating the square root.... and all the other stuff too...leave it ti the few who are the real pros in math....rhyming is great as usual, and hurray for the old lady who ended up with a penthouse and a patio!
