Black rubber burning white hot

Out of speakeasy’s back lot

Down the main drag, pavement was fried

Heading toward, last part of my ride

Two black strips had tattooed the road

From a big block pumping full load

With my foot jammed to the floor

Open highway was what I lived for

Twin blowers howled out of hick town

This madman creating an earsplitting sound

I'd dropped a load at the speakeasy down

From the dragstrip found on hallowed ground

With just one more night stop I had to make

Now with two state cruisers I had to shake

Dropping the hammer, I blew down the road

One hundred proof, was my evil load

Satan had lured me with his evil grin

Black panel screamed out its laughter of sin

Toward darkest hell, we’d carry Devil’s brew

Choreographed by Satan, before night was thru

The night’s moon lured me with its devil light

Black panel screamed through last of deep night

In the rear mirror had faded the sights

Of two sets of flashing red lights

With my foot still hard on the throttle

Pure hell poured from the nitrous bottle

Having the black panel lean further ahead

We’d howl thru the night or both end up dead

Wide rubber glued tight as I rounded a bend

Wild ponies were screaming as all did attend

With only one more stop night had me spend

Delivering Satan's sauce, before black night's end

Lights in the mirror, were long gone as we sped

My beautiful, greedy ponies were being well fed

The dark night was being thoroughly bled

With eight hundred ponies, now given their head

Far in the distance, a sight which was ever so slight

A pale glare coming through blackness of night

As we screamed forward, it shone ever bright

The shriek of twin blowers a sound to incite

Far ahead the roadway had been blocked

While at one sixty-five, the speedo was clocked

With pedal down, I screamed down the line

Like a madman who had gone out of his mind

Hot lead slammed into the front of my ride

Seeking soft flesh, searched all round inside

My wild eyes reflecting our soon to be bride

Black panel aware now, that I hadn’t lied

Those in attendance just stood to stare

As black panel launched into night’s air

Satan smiled, holding out welcoming arms

Allowing nightrider’s to bathe in his charms

That night, they say we had never returned

Some point to ashes where they say we had burned

Some say black panel no longer takes flight

Some say it’s now Satan drives it each night
