Whilst    wildest seas were wantonly whipping

That same selfish sea sought her selfless soul

Unable to grasp, what she hoped to be gripping

Had the lamed Lady Jane, begin slipping below

Where she, in the dankest depth of darks deep

Into the end of her ways, she was slipping

Deepest of darks dread

Coursing through scurvied scum

Sent seamen to their lockers

Where were consumed

Endless bottles of rum

The surging sea, with its foul breath, be dammed

Willingly wed with whichever wanton wind won

While blood, firstly taken after darkest demand

Delving in dank depths, where seamen were shunned

Sending souls scurrying to their soiled, sea chests

Bringing forth to consume, endless bottles of rum

Deepest of dark dread

Coursing through scurvied scum

Sent seamen to their lockers

Where were consumed

Endless bottles of rum

Unable to contain her helplessly, hanging lifes flow

The Lady Jane sideways first slid, until the lady slipped

Tho tenuously tangled into turmoiled, troughs below

Soullessly sentenced by scorning seas, she then shipped

To where blackest of darks depth became her greatest foe

Depth of dark dread

Coursing through scurvied scum

Sent seamen to their lockers

Where were consumed

Endless bottles of rum

Tho that salt sea now is a salubrious and seraphic sill

Below, Lady Jane is soullessly secured in shackling stays

But when willfuls, wild wind wakes, as wrathfully will

Then soused seamen will delve into rums willing ways

Until the roused wrath of raging seas, are once again still

I love this tale of pirates at sea being sent to Davy jones locker to forever drink their rum. I could see the wind whipping and the ship tilting dumping many a person into the raging dark greenish blue water. Love the wording and the imagery painted in this poem

You’re welcome. I loved this tale filled with all its waves and rocking seas
dearest Dave… Lady Jane is tormented and knows there is only one Tonic that can calm the Sea… a bottle of Rum… It seems our World is similar to a Raging Storm. Heaven only knows. Pat

Very atmospheric Dave. When all hope is gone, thank goodness for the rum before you meet a watery grave. Must be terrifying to be out at sea in the circumstances that lead to a ship sinking below the waves.
