Kona O’Shay went on a sunny day

To the beach with his paddle board

And through the spray of a salty way

Seaward he then oared

Neath the sights of gooney flights

He paddled to'ard the coral sea

Where joined by a pod of playful porpi

Who all dove and danced carefree

With porpoise near, the way was clear

Letting him paddle till late at night

Which became his last day as human

With him next becoming a gooney in flight

Palm trees sway beside blue tropic seas

Coconut crabs crawl cross white sands

But the strangest thing, I’ve ever seen

Is a Gooney bird with two hands

Author's Note

Dave Brown
Hearing an oomph followed by a loud quack
I saw a duck hop onto a Yak
Yak got real frenetic
Had to call a medic
Cuz that Yak wasn’t used to quack flak

i don't care how many hands it has as long as it doesn't leave any presents on my car ...:)

I have always loved poems with a story and this is one. Mythical in nature it falls into a folk tale type that reads easily and rolls off the tongue as if it were a tune. Well rhymed and very fun

Done enough time on the water, now I just watch
Brilliant. The imagery is alive and vivid. I can smell the salt.
