Osiris

Osiris

A Chapter by Dave Brown

When I was but a newly born child

Malaria put me inside a tomb

My life had been taken by Osiris

As I left my dying mother’s womb

I had been laid beside my siblings

Both my older sister and brother

We lay together for over 4000 years

Along with my father and mother

Our story was eventually forgotten

Until 2018 yrs. after Christ’s birth

When we were discovered in our tomb

Beneath the Valley of the King’s earth

Am I happy to be disturbed

Able once again to see light of day

Although I am now a part of Egyptology

I wish they’d just let us quietly lay

An interesting and topical tale retold in verse. Those anthropologists and archeologists are always digging after history. Nicely penned, I enjoyed the read.
