A Goldilocks Vacation

Goldilocks, taking time for vacation 

From her efforts as an entrepreneur

Looking for holiday accommodation

Drove off with a friendly UBER

 

On her iPhone, she saw three to see

One straw, one stick, one brick

If whichever's rent left room for Chablis

One should do the vacationing trick

 

A pig rented one beside a dance hall

A Pig!! How very weird was that

And when she leaned against a wall

The whole damn thing fell flat

 

The second place looked like a dream

Sending her from stick to brick

With it overlooking field and stream

Goldi knew it would do the trick

 

When the front door opened this time

It was the Big Bad Wolf that appeared

Thankfully old and well past his prime

And now sporting a long grey beard

 

When he saw this beauty standing there

With golden hair and smoothest soft skin

His ancient hormones rekindled ‘that’ pair

Grabbing her, he dragged her straight in

 

The tumbler’s turned, the door shut tight

But her luck was to intercede                 

As the wolf staggered forward with delight

She produced a purse full of No.1 weed

 

Both are now enjoying many a relaxing day

Them both blessed with lawn chair holidays

There’s no thought of any nasty way

Having all their time now spent in a haze

I like how the poem builds up a potential conflict before pulling the rug out from under your feet. She was thoroughly enjoying the haze. "Both are now spending many relaxing days getting high." This bit of wit applied well as wolfish humor took me back for a second to those days of the early 70's of smoking herb bought as a four finger lid's ten-spot that would keep you happily on your way throughout the day or night without fear of crashing. Only real fear was that of the munchies, and nothing to eat in the house ... Enjoyed it!
