the trail just takin a break And
happened across a nine-foot bull snake Lying
in the sun just barely awake Having
me quickly apply my foot brake Seeing
it had caused me some alarm It
assured it meant nobody no harm Further
responding with a charm to disarm Explaining
it worked at the neighbouring farm Saying,
as it lay there in the complete buff He’d
been employed to catch rodents and stuff For
him, they were just the greatest foodstuff But
for the moment he’d ate quite enough With
sun shinning he was just lyin back Apparently
of time, he’d kina lost track Every
so often his attack would go slack Now
to get back before gettin employer flak Just
before returning to the barnyard He
gave me his number, catchin me off guard In
case I had unwanted rodents round the yard And
