Nature's Sap Train

I am a great Fir evergreen

Sweet sap courses my vein

Not only fostering mankind

I also produce Nature’s sap train

 

Ours have lived a thousand years

Beyond man’s short life of stress

We soar to greatest lofty towers

Enjoying wide skies we address

 

I am one part of Nature’s wild land

Where Cougar and Bear quietly walk

Wild birds settle pon my limbs

From Chickadee to hunting Hawk

 

Hummingbird’s sip my sweet nectar

Owl’s stare down from my height

My cones sustain tiny squirrels

I am a stalwart both day and night

 

I am one part of the great forest

From pasture to far mountainside

Until the world is no longer  

I and mine will preside

i sure hope so. men with chainsaws usually have other ideas. this years the pines' sap has gotten on our cars when pine needles fall in the parking lot where i live - very difficult to get off (is like glue). a straight and tall write ... :)

"They" (Govt.) keep saying this area and that area will be protected however I was up in an area of mid-upper Van isle the other day and there was a constant parade of logging trucks going by!
And "They" wonder why Bears are foraging in the backyard of surrounding communities.
If this keeps up those yearly good fun, beer drinking, hunting parties will have to take their mega monster trucks and high powered, scope mounted, hunting rifles a bit further away to kill unarmed, unaware, defensiveness creatures in the remaining non-clearcut areas.

i always cringe when i go past land being cleared for new development. i ask myself, "when is this going to stop?" animals have nowhere to go. on the news they keep showing bears in people's yards looking for food. enough is enough ... :)
