In a far-off desert city

Where the nitty is awfully gritty

Where often the girls are pritty pretty

With the guys being occasionally witty

Where those desert sands are blowin

And no one knowin where they’re goin

There lives especially dear aunty Mabel

Who, when she sets her eating table

Has always had thoughts of Sally Sable

Whom she’d considered a desert fable.

Having ridden her camel cross hot sands

Till pon one occasion, tried it ‘no hands’

But the camel instead engaged ‘other plans’

Alternately trotting off to distant lands

Where basically because t’was now able

Galloped off to’ard whichever livery stable

However, because said camel was a stumbler

Proved for dear Sally, a most sorry blunder

It had dumped her off, which badly stund’er

And was not at all any sort of a wonder

Her ending up, (down) a full six foot under

Forever discombobulating the fable

Of one-time desert fable, Sally Sable

And with the passing of Aunty Mable

Ended the sad story of Sally Sable

Plus that camel of Sable fable

Is no longer remembered

In any livery stable
