SwallowedA Chapter by Dave Brown☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️Watching
while Buzzard’s circled Above
prairie sand shifting round The
Coyote stood mostly hidden Careful
to not make a sound From
his place on a raised bluff He
watched one rider laying still The
other, trying to keep standing Was
also, steps from boot hill They
had both quarreled Was
the story I had heard Over
a Barmaid or Horse The
situation was blurred It
became two more Old West guns Deciding
how this would turn The
Buzzard’s cared not at all Nor
did the Coyote show concern The
warm wind, while shifting soft sand Didn’t
consider fools and their ways The
wide sky would still remain blue As
two Gunfighter’s finished their days While wide prairie lay indifferently Hungry Buzzard’s
considered a feast Of these two
going to their maker Who would never
see a priest Slowly
swallowed by the desert These
lost souls with no name Would
leave nothing behind Not
even the slightest sand stain © 2023 Dave BrownReviews
