My self assured sense of hope

My self assured sense of hope

A Poem by David Broderick
"

Another song. I apologise once more for the fact it doesn't read well as a poem. Enjoy.

"

My self assured, sense of hope

You prop the stool, I tie the rope

I used to be airtight,

Couldn’t break the bind,

We used to be alright,

But I always seem to find,

Complications

Why?

I’m naked, I’m naked

And shaking with fear -

A fear I’ve never felt before

But if god is on my side,

Who can stand against me?

Evidently

You

My self assured, sense of hope

You prop the stool, I tie the rope

I’m better off blind

Because you’re still beautiful

Better off dumb

Because it might slip my tongue

Your beautiful, so beautiful

Always, so beautiful

I'm better off blind
Because you're still beautiful
Better off dumb
Because it might slip my tongue
Your beautiful, so beautiful
Always, so beautiful

this is a work of genius.
lyrical and tells such a tragic story.
beautiful written and had me hooked from start to finish.
deep, raw and filled with brilliant word choice.
