Where are the bees

Where are the bees

A Poem by Wolfie
"

I was sitting outside watching the same flowers I have for almost a decade. The sounds were missing, something to dart my eyes at was no longer there. I picked up my journal and threw this down.

"
To think the earth is suffering a theft of life seems absurd
Each moment in time has been created by what we see around us
The vicious nature of humanity has left our surroundings charred
Our impact on this plain has left our desires monstrous.

The birds have seen the change and adapt to overcome with some success
Flowers miss the breeze of tiny wings carrying their seeds so they can breed
Spiders starve knowing it was not them who created this mess
Auditory winds churn with the absence of the forgotten bees

They are smudges on our cars with not so much as a second thought
They ran the gauntlet of nature that human civilisation has created
The number dwindles as they get caught in what we have wrought
We deny our impact without seeing how we have made things complicated

The bees will hide, they wont abide
Our time is short, we're natures sport
The bees have tried, we turned their mind
Our future needs support, yet we snort

This work touches on the biggest development of mankind. The devastation of the food chain and environment because of greed. A good poem, I enjoyed reading it and felt a resonance.
