Bubba Eats an Indian Apple

Bubba Eats an Indian Apple

A Poem by David Benson
"

American Southerner falls for a Bollywood beauty.

"

Swaying hips and black

hair, henna skin and sin

lure a Baptist boy

too lazy to learn

her educated

Tamil tongue and lamb's

blood dot. Fist of God

smite me, beat me back

into submission.

Kali's seductive

dance found my hidden

desires for chaos,

destruction and re-

birth. Ego truth lies

beneath her mad black

whirl and tastes

of vegetarian

lies and curried lips.

I wonder whether

she'd eat fried chicken

and live in my shack

dancing just for me.

I love the Hindu allusion. Seems like it could be a theme for a series or book even. Great poem:)

This is certainly an interesting poem. You have some excellent wording, and it produces some of the most intriguing imagery. This poem is really good. It also flows so beautifully to. I don't see where I could improve upon this fantastic writing.
