Creamsicle Cat

Creamsicle Cat

A Poem by David O Whalen (O Haolin in Celtic)

Chance encounter. Free verse/rhyme mixture. Best read while having morning coffee.

"
...Creamsicle Cat...
Orange and white
Crossing my path
Silent as night

...Creamsicle cat...
Steathy and slight
Smooth as butter
Quiet as light

...Creamsicle Cat...
Whiskers atwitch
Eyes naught but slits
Cohort of witch?

...Creamsicle Cat...
Tail low and still
Paw raised and tense
As only cats will

...Creamsicle Cat...
Of Icy demeanor
Not slim...Nor fat
but lithe and leaner

...Creamsicle Cat...
Here and then not
Where is he at?
Gone from that spot!

...Creamsicle Cat...
Fickle as mist
Where is he at?
And will he be missed?

...Creamsicle Cat...
Puzzling fellow
Enigmatic creature
Of white and yellow
Crossing my path

...in dead of night...

I couldn't help thinking of the T. S. Eliot poem, "The Song of the Jellicles" when I read this. Your poem made me smile.
