Ode To Heavenly Hues

Ode To Heavenly Hues

A Poem by David O Whalen (O Haolin in Celtic)
"

Just another Sunset Poem

"
The canvas upon
Which Sunsets are drawn
The palette that proffers
The hues…
The stroke of the brush
‘Pon the edge of the earth
The purples, the crimsons
The blues..
The portrait that’s painted
Each day at dusk
At times displays
The husk of a day…
Once so bright and roseate
So vibrant and sunny
As if God and Angels
Have conspired to create
A hue hallowed and new
The colour of blood
…mixed with honey…

Author's Note

David O Whalen (O Haolin in Celtic)
As usual; hard to find a rhythm (but trust me it's kinda' there!) And with free verse I think It's less about the rhyme and rhythm and more about emotion conveyed. (but that's just me!)

This poem is very well written but the rhythm is no there yet. You should try to add line break (to give your poem a clean look) and make use of syllables, for they can greatly enhance ones poem if done right but I can feel that you have talent but your sentences sound really beautiful. So you should never give up on writing.

Good job :D
