Poison

Poison

A Poem by David-Tyler

I drank of your poison and it turned my blood to ink
I can feel my heart drowning as all the good in me begins to sink
Someone find me a cure, or put me in the grave
Because I've got courage, but I've never been so brave

I crossed your seas and swam across your oceans
Just to choke on your poorly timed elixirs and concoctions
My veins all look black now, my eyes look sick now
All in time to get my heartbroken and watch your show though

Play the victim, play the hopeless damsel in distress
But you know who you are when you're not talking to the press
All dressed in a disguise trying to hide from your own eyes
But you know as well as I do everything you say comes out as lies

When I'm tired, when I'm down, and when I die
Don't think about me, don't imagine what could have been you and I
Because you drowned me in your poison
Before leaving me exposed to your natural erosion

Collar and leash I followed where you lead
Whips and chains I should have thought with my head
But you had the trust of my heart
Blinded by love, you shortly tore me apart

I drank of your poison and it turned my blood to ink
I can feel my heart drowning as all the good in me begins to sink
Someone find me a cure, or put me in the grave
Because I've got courage, but I've never been so brave
