Last chance

Last chance

A Poem by David Dodsworth

If I had one last chance, to win your heart for good

This time, it would be different,  I would give you all my love

I'd say the words , you need to hear, from the heart, not just my lips

Take  the memories of the past, then tear them into strips

One last chance to make it work, to show my love is true

You loved me then, and could again, our love will be anew

So please my sweet, give me the chance, to love, like you loved me

Our love to be reborn again, through words of poetry

My love for you is stronger now,It cuts me like a knife

For you I'll buy a ring of gold, then I can call you wife

So if you give me one last chance,to be that caring man

then I will sweep you off your feet,to show you that I can
