A Poem by David Dodsworth

ONCE I HAD NOTHING I THOUGHT NO ONE CARED

I LIVED ON THE STREETS AND EVERYONE STARED

THEY SAID I WAS USELESS THEY CALLED ME A BUM

I ONLY FELT SADNESS I NEVER KNEW FUN

WEEKS PASSED ME BY, BAD THOUGHTS IN MY HEAD

WITH NO POINT IN LIVING, I WISHED I WAS DEAD

MY LIFE WAS MESSED UP, MISTAKES HAD BEEN MADE

NO LIGHT IN MY LIFE, I LIVED IN THE SHADE

BUT THEN CAME A STRANGER WHO SHOWED ME THE WAY

GUIDED ME THROUGH, WITH GOOD THINGS TO SAY

THE DEMONS INSIDE ME ARE NOW IN THE PAST

A new man is born through a love that will last

SENT FROM ABOVE TO SUFFER FOR MAN

HELPING THE NEEDY WHEREVER HE CAN

NOW MY LIFES GOOD AND BACK ON THE TRACK

I THANKYOU LORD JESUS FOR DOING ALL THAT
