Blue

Blue

A Poem by David Dodsworth

Blue, blue everything blue, I fear the blue, yet I am curious

Can the blue harm me? I fear it can, would the blue kill me? I’m sure of it

The blue is hypnotizing me, luring me into a false sense of comfort

Playing games with my mind, like a chess game that cannot be mated

I am engulfed in its beauty, yet challenged by the calmness it creates

A color so mesmerizing yet dull in its own way

It is reading my thoughts and collecting the data

Sucking the life-force from my mind at breathtaking speed

The fear I had has faded, replaced by a hatred, created by my conscience

I have become one with the blue sharing thoughts and ideas

My existence has now become blue
