I had a dream

I had a dream the other night

that really gave me quite a fright
a maiden took me be the hand

and led me to a distant land
where seas were gold and skies were green

the strangest thing i'd ever seen
she sang to me a song of love

like angels from the choir above
she took me to a scarlet lake

where rainbow birds were eating cake
she then declared her love for me

a feeling of serendipity
but as i turned to kiss her neck

i saw the fangs and nails stretched
a transformation in the making

this was now my rude wawkening
i tried to run but fell with a scream

then i realized it was just a dream
