A TAIL CHASED

A TAIL CHASED

A Poem by David Dodsworth

                            A TAIL CHASED

A tail chased, and circles ran

Then flopped upon the ground

With panting breath, a tongue now long

A very tired hound

She looks at me through puppy eyes

Then staring at her ball

A bark that says I'm ready now.

This task does me befall

Then she brings her leash to me

her tail whips the air

So off we trot around the block

She doesn't have a care

The butcher stops and says hello

He gives the dog a bone

then proud as puch she carries it

And eats it when she's home
