Songs of memories

Songs of memories

A Poem by David Dodsworth

When I am sad, I play a song

To cheer me up, when things go wrong

A song that means allot to me

The foot tapping beat, fills me with glee

A song that takes me, back in time

And all the words, they seem to rhyme

I know the lyrics, word for word

All so clear, never blurred

A special place, within my mind

The rhythm helps me, to unwind

When the song ends I give a sigh

And wipe a tear from my eye
