Unprotected sex

A Poem by David Dodsworth

Sat with my girlfriend watching the telly

Kissing and groping and rubbing her belly

One moment of passion now she’s in the club

I should have been careful I should have been good

It happened so fast and was over so quick

I thought it was great I thought she was fit

Now she is pregnant and really messed up

My mates think I’m mad and wish me good luck

She’s talking of marriage and houses and things

She never shut’s up about engagement rings

I’m meeting her parents now that’s really sad

Six months ago, I was Jack The Lad

I want to run off and leave her behind

But she treats me so good and she is really kind

I spoke to my dad and he said get rid

The last thing you need in your life is a kid

Next thing I know I’m stood at the alter

Saying I do and holding a daughter

Now I am married I’m meant to be happy

My heads up my arse and I can’t change a nappy

As I fall asleep the child starts to scream

I open my eyes and thank god it’s a dream
