Sinking ship

Sinking ship

A Poem by David Dodsworth

Sometimes life can get you down

All you want to do is drown

When you lose and never win

Giving up and given in

And when the anchor loses grip

Now you're the captain of a sinking ship

On the bridge you stand with pride

With water lapping at your sides

Hold up your head and draw another breath

Show no fear in the arms of death

Now it's time to sink or swim

Will it end or just begin?

Hold on to hope and do't let go

Just say yes and don't say no

Reach out your hand and you'll be saved

Lifes cruelest storm now you have braved
