PETE THE PARROT

PETE THE PARROT

A Poem by David Dodsworth
"

The first of Pete's adventures

"

This is a poem about a parrot called Pete

A parrot with style, he's really quite sweet

With feathers of green and big yellow feet

Now pete he could whistle and pete he could sing

And flew like an eagle, when he took to the wing

He spoke in chinese and was born in peking

But unlike the duck, who went well with some plum

He was a bird, that allways had fun

And scared away robbers, with a noise like a gun

Pete loved his music, of this I am sure

He danced on his perch, and he danced on the floor

Shuffling his feet, like he'd done it before

One sunny day, when Pete was outside

High in tree, a cat tried to hide

"help me I'm stuck", the poor kitten cried

He shouted and squawked to raise the alarm

And rescued the kitten, then using his charm
